Welcome to the Dapper Dans of Harmony Men’s barbershop chorus and thanks for taking the time to learn more about this great hobby.
We are a fraternal, charitable, educational and service oriented singing club. The Dans sing for the pure joy of singing and the desire to share that joy with others. There’s just something special about a capella harmony that brings a smile to most everyone we sing for.
Now, while we do sing in a classic four-part a capella harmony style there is nothing old fashioned about the Dans. Today’s barbershop singing is a lot more than old tunes – there is a wide range of styles with rich contemporary arrangements and songs. It’s a sound that appeals to men of all ages and all walks of life.
The Dans are also involved with the community. We routinely sing at hospitals, nursing homes and public events. Our performances afford us the opportunity to enrich our lives as well as the lives of others. We also award scholarships to local high school seniors and provide support for youth singing programs. Additionally, we perform two shows each year and do participate in competitions.
With all these activities there really is something for everyone. But, perhaps most important is the fellowship, the opportunity to make new friends while participating in a shared passion for singing.
